Welcome!
Your arrival on this page means you were invited as a member of Kay’s Metaphysical Tribe
You are invited to experience a special treat on July 22nd from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm, as certified Forest Therapy Guide, Robin Hancock gently guides us through a Shinrin-Yoku Walk. Shinrin-Yoku is a Japanese term than translates literally to “Forest Bathing”. Robin obtained her certification through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy, and is also a charter member of the Global Institute of Forest Therapy (GIFT). Robin lives in Decatur and guides in metro Atlanta and surrounding areas.
The Forest is the Therapist | The Guide Opens the Door
The walk will take place at Cascade Springs Nature Preserve and will last between 2.5 and 3 hours. During this time, you will be offered a series of invitations that will encourage cultivating a relationship with the sentient beings in your natural surroundings. This tapping in to the innate powers of your natural surroundings, and pushing and exploring beyond your established edges, though it may seem paradoxical, often becomes a grounding and transformational experience.
Besides the physiological and psychological benefits in connecting in this way with nature, many also experience deep spiritual connection during the experience, with lasting effects. While there is no specific expectation during a Shinrin-Yoku experience, each person tends to receive from the Universe according to their own needs. In this way, though this is a group event, you may experience a profound personal shift. Healing often takes place in these spaces, which is referred to as “Medicine of the Forest”.
