This day retreat will combine mindfulness meditations and Forest Therapy for a unique experience connecting with oneself, nature, and others. Participants will use both mindfulness and their senses to become fully immersed in their natural surroundings, thereby benefitting physically, mentally, and perhaps spiritually from the experience. By experiencing these guided practices, you will learn mindfulness and forest therapy methods you may begin using in your everyday life.

About the facilitators: Robin Hancock is certified as a Forest Therapy guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (www.natureandforesttherapy.org), and has been guiding Shinrin-Yoku (Forest Bathing) walks in the Greater Atlanta area since 2016. As an outdoor enthusiast since her youngest years, Robin turned her attention back to nature after experiencing profound personal loss. After discovering Shinrin-Yoku, Robin retired early from her career with the State of Georgia to become certified, and to guide others in this healing modality.
Nicole Keating, LCSW, has been trained in mindfulness meditation based on Jon Kabat-Zinn’s Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program and has attended Mark Coleman’s Awake in the Wild, Mindfulness in Nature training. She teaches mindfulness meditation regularly to clients in her practice as a licensed clinical social worker. She is a big believer that self-practice is vital in teaching others. Nicole has developed and led successful retreats incorporating mindfulness meditation in nature. She also spends countless hours outside!
